The One: Kiss Back
I never asked her
why she kissed me…
coz deep down inside
I desire another taste of her lips…
The night sky wasn’t yet full black and I was there chilling, having my favorite cold four-seasons in the porch. A girl resembling a fairy goddess was walking toward my place. I was waiting for the light to illuminate her face when she waved her hand and shouted…
“You lame pretty girl! How could you leave without seeing me?!”
I knew then who she was. It was a holiday and everyone else was out. I just went home leaving the event coz work would resume the next day. I just wanted to relax and avoid hangovers…hide away from stress and hide away from many others…but that didn’t mean, hide away from a friend like her.
OK I’ll admit, maybe I was hiding away before…those freaking years were different though. Trust me I had reasons.
“I felt dehydrated so here I am charging up. Wow, look at you, some curly locks…I hardly recognized you when you’re walking.”
“Don’t change the topic, hey. I hate it when we only see each other in times like this and you fuckin don’t care.” She said furiously but still with a charm.
She was my best friend. She and I went to the same high school. She and I shared everything. She’s been there for me, good times and bad times. We had so much fun. We had so many secrets until we became part of each other’s secrets. One insomnia-tic (word from Invictus ;) ) slumber somehow changed it all… I never asked her why she kissed me…coz deep down inside I desire another taste of her lips. We’ve grown apart when she moved to another city. Since then we only catch up occasionally…as in occasionally.
“We’re here now, let’s have more cheers!” I said offering a toast.
“Yea, we are here now…alone?” She asked smiling playfully.
And now, she’s here. And she’s always as beautiful as before, and much flirtatious. A younger and angelic version of Angelina Jolie.
Now, she’s here…enticing and alluring again. And I couldn’t run away…I didn’t want to run away either.
“Yah.” I said placing my glass on the table.
She deliberately pushed me to a corner and kissed my still wet lips. I tasted another four-seasons and another more seasons I guess.
“Oh my gosh, you’re single now!” She exclaimed.
“How’d you know? We haven’t started our pep talk yet.” I asked surprised.
“Because you just kissed me back.” She said staring at me.
And oh…
There's always gonna be that one person that no matter how long it's been or how strange they've treated you, if they tried to kiss you,,,you'll always kiss ‘em back…
