What is the most painful thing you have had to do?
What is the most painful action you've had to take that you knew might hurt someone, but the action was completely necessary? Did it turn out the way you expected? Do you still agree it was the best thing to do? Would you do it again?
I had to tell my husband his father had died of a sudden heart attack. I'd known his dad since I was 15 and never heard a harsh word pass between the two of them. I hope I did it as well as something like that can be done. Quick but tender, and of course, my husband reacted as anyone would expect. The only good thing about it was it is the kind of thing you only have to do once.
Thank you for sharing. I cannot imagine how painful that was for you. I offer my sympathies to you and your husband.
