People cheat for many reasons. They are unhappy, they are not satisfied...they are insecure, not trusting.
I can tell you that a relationship such as marriage, you need to be committed to that person, that relationship. And you have to be willing to stay with that person even though, you may be unhappy, or not satisfied. Talk it out.. Work it out. God said that when two people are joined together they are one flesh. (paraphased)  If that person is willing to stay with you then be willing to work on the relationship.

Sometimes there's no other reason other than that they think they can get away with it at the time, so when an opportunity presents itself they'll take it.

Sometimes because they are genuinely having difficulty being in their relationship, but haven't yet got the courage to leave.

Sometimes, because they're not yet married - they want to keep their options opened.

Sometimes because they've caught up with someone they used to love - 'sex with the ex' kind of situation.

How you should react will depend on what kind of relationship you're in, and whether you're married, have children or are living together. As well as if you feel they may do it again. In any case you will feel hurt and you'll have to decide whether you want to continue the relationship with the 'cheater'.

People cheat for a variety of reasons. Cheating on somebody does not always mean that they are unhappy in a relationship. Lust is a temptation that a lot of people are powerless to resist. & it is true that they believe that they will not be caught and not suffer any consequences from the act. When first finding that a loved one has cheated on you, the first response should always be "Why?". It will catch them off gaurd and asking that simple question could help recieve the most honest response. I believe the old saying "Fool me once, shame on you but fool me twice, shame on me". It is okay forgive a person if you truly believe that they will not cheat again sometimes the severity of discovering a cheating partner will enable people to work on their initial relationship. In order to ensure to keep the relationship healthy after a cheating incident has occured, getting back the trust between each other is VITAL, if you can not regain that trust, the relationship is tainted and probably will never get back to full swing again.
