It really depends on the people involved. I have seen some instances where it worked out quite nicely.
I think it can work. The two need to be very honest about what each expects from life being with each other. Also, the couple needs to anticipate the pressure society will bring because of the age difference (some people never grow up).
They can work! The most important thing about the relationship is the level of maturity of each one involved. If both belong to the same culture, society could be an issue. However, the most relevant points to be considered are: Do you love each other? Are you willing to sacrifice for the relationship? Of course, I would be ready to bet all my money if the difference ranges between 15 to 25 years. Above that range It is quite problematic and unrealistic.
