    The rules have been set by what society feels is right and should be accepted, not by what is right for you.

    If you wanna get the *Ok* from Society, then "Stick to the status quo".
    If you wanna do what you feel is right, the simply follow your emotions.

    There are no rules, only cultural guidelines. I know many happy couples that blatantly ignored these "rules", and it doesn't seem to bother them. You're absolutely right, go with your heart.

    Dating is about having fun and getting to know someone, it doesn't need to be serious (at least at the start) so don't stress over having to follow certain 'rules', just be yourself, so long as you're enjoying yourself because that's what dating is really all about!

    There are no right and wrong rules when it comes to relationships (dating included): what works for one may not for another. Follow your heart, trust your own judgement in knowing what to do and make your own rules as you go along.
    You may make mistakes, but at least you would have been true to yourself...and not blindly followed some 'rules' laid down in a book...! smile
