Custody Battles:Are men unfaily biased in cutody cases?
In some places yes men are very unfairly biased. One reason though is unless there has been a paternity test, there is no guarantee the child is the mans. There are plenty of witnesses at the birth, usually none at conception.
In Tennessee a few years ago they passed some laws to make it more fair to men. However now it just turns out which judge you get to determine how fair the case will be.
Yes, I feel that men are unfairly treated in custody cases because of bias. On the other hand, I don't think it's good for the child to go back and forth half time with dad, half time with mom. studies have shown that the kids can get whacked out from that. However, sometimes the father is a better caregiver and some amazing fathers should get custody.
I also feel that a lot depends upon a child's age. A teenage boy will probably be better with a father.
