If you had a friend that is so cute would you stay friends with him or her?
Would you not be friends with him or her?
Depends on whether you want to risk the present friendship. If you care really close friends, think twice since this may be in jeopardy otherwise if you are just friends, I think you go for it.
It may vary from individual to individual. But in my opinion its better to be friends and there is nothing wrong in it.
Why would you not be friends with somebody just because of their looks? If anything a more appealing look is aestetically pleasing and nice to look at. I don't see why that would effect your friendship.
