I'm not a church person nor I do go to church, but I don't believe that someone would probably go to church to fit in. That would be very interesting. I don't believe that going to church is a way for people to "Fit in" but for people to go and pray for their love one or for themselves. I go to temple, not church, and I go there not to fit in, I go there to do my prayer. I believe that going to temple is not about everyone else, but its about yourself. I go there for myself, not for anyone else and its not about "fitting in"

It seems like you’re asking, “How do I fit in with my peers as a Christian who is single?”  As a new Christian my biggest fear is people not being completely honest or comfortable around me because they’re afraid I will be judgmental and start spouting scriptures.  Then again who can blame them, some of our brothers and sisters in Christ are extremely aggressive and turn people off to even stepping one foot inside of a church.  Finding a balance is challenging because you do not want to compromise your values while attempting a social life.

What works best for me is voicing my concerns to The Big Man Upstairs and than leaving it up to Him.  I am fun loving, goofy, loyal to a fault, energetic, and always ready for an adventure, these are the qualities I am told people first notice about me.  As they get to know me they see how important a role God plays in my life and realize I’m not so scary (lol!).  As a single Christian finding a romantic partner is a completely different story.  If there are no eligible singles in your church then I have three suggestions.

1.) Volunteer - Look on different websites to see what really sparks your interest (aka find a cause that means something to you) and then attend a meeting or gathering.  Nothing bonds people quicker then a common cause!

2.) Online Dating – There were plenty of people in my area and it is easy to find those who share the same morals.  I’ve also met some wonderful people from across the country that simply enjoy chatting and encouraging my walk with God.

3.) Pray, Smile, and Live Life – Go to a gym class and get to know the people in it, join a book club, become involved with something you enjoy doing and meet those around you.  As long as you stay positive and live life to God’s full potential you’ll eventually meet the right person.

I hope this helps.  You cannot control how people will view you, but you can control how you present yourself.  Actions will cause reactions, so stop and ask yourself “is this pleasing to God?”  Stay true to yourself and focus on your journey (not the destination), you’ll begin to see He’s leading you not only to where you should be, but who should be surrounding you.
