How do you deal with a deployed spouse?
My husband is going to deploy next May for nine months where he won't be getting an R&R because of the shortened deployment. He's in the army, so I know he'll have access to a computer and possibly a phone. But how do you do? How do you deal with a deployed spouse?
Has it harmed or helped your relationship?
I haven't dealt with it personally, but from what I've heard, it can help for military spouses to find other military spouses to spend some time with, and talk. Each knows what the other is going through, and each can be support for the other. There is a set of circumstances/issues/challenges that are exclusive to military spouses, so others in the same situation are often best able to offer understanding, support, and insight.
I wouldn't have answered at all here, but I thought one possible and sensible answer might be better than none (and we never know if a question will get more answers or not).
