   It's a cultural thing I suppose. Just as "arranged marriages" aren't likely to become a big thing in the United States. However I would not be too surprised if online dating catches on eventually in India. It may be 20 years from now.  Western pop culture has a way of filtering it's way throughout the globe whether it be McDonalds, Apple iPads and iPods, Coca Cola, ...etc

   This question was asked 2 years ago but letme sum up what has changed since the last two years in dating industry in India.
   Yes,it is right that online dating was considered a taboo in india and is still considered by some people.

"Men using slang like 'ma place' or 'ma friends' is a sign there is something wrong with the guy."
   
   But the conditions are changing and there are many competitors not only in the dating websites but also in mobile applications.
