What is being a snob? Do you mean blue collar versus white collar? These days the field is leveling out. Many white collar workers are unemployed and those with skills that do not require a 4 year degree are gainfully employed. A waiter, bartender or waitress can make quite a bit of cash.
Maybe they are superficial and only interested in the guy's financial status? Having money doesn't equate a happy relationship or marriage. It helps, but there are lots of guys out there who aren't in high profile careers, who would make great husbands or boyfriends.
Too much emphasis is placed on material things, such as the "ring" and the "wedding", and the "house", and "cars". None of that really matters and when that's the basis of a marriage, it's bound to fail.
Marriage is so much more and it's about nurturing and supporting each other. I counsel couples and often I realize they never should have gotten married in the first place because there really wasn't a good solid foundation.
That's probably a lot more answer than you were looking for...sorry!
