    How many countries still have arranged marriage as the "norm"?

    Born and raised in the good ole' USA, the concept is just foreign to me.  It seems out dated and primitive, but then again, I've been brought up in a society where that is what we are taught to believe.  There have been more and more questions and hubs on this subject, which got me to thinking... just how many countries still have arranged marriages as the "normal" way to get married?

    its really India my own country. here love marriage is considered as a crime by the society even if there is no law on it

    I don't know about the stats of 'how many countries' but I can say in INDIA it is still prevailing which is great. Actually I think the arranged marriage here in India has changed. Now a days in some cases the fix starts with love and finishes with arranged and in some cases it starts with arranged by parents and then the couple get to know each other before marriage, talk over phones etc., and fall in love. The 2nd case happened in my life.

    A good balance in everything is always good. Anything extreme lacks so many things.
