It took me all of five minutes to get over one breakup. My then-girlfriend called me from another country (!) and said "I think we should see other people." (Translation: "I'm already seeing other people.") So I said "Um...OK, fine, see ya," hung up the phone, and went out and got drunk.
Easiest breakup I've ever had.
My cousin actually came up with a math problem for this. Divide the length of time you two were together by 3. If you dated someone for a year, you will still feel for them for 4 months. However, I'm sure this doesn't apply. For my last boyfriend, we dated for two years and it only took 6 months to get over him.
It depends on the relationship and how much was invested emotionally. If it wasn't too serious then it shouldnt take long.
