What would be a good sign that the girl you have never met is not really your girlfriend?
My friend, I think you just answered your own question. You have never met? This could be anyone. I presume it's an internet relationship. As proven time and time again, you really have no idea who you are speaking to or if it is even a female.
You know, this is tricky. We live in an era where you can be extremely close to somebody you have never met. Technology has come so far and enables us to interact through phone, texting, and even video.
A big part of a relationship is conversation, emotions, caring and even love. These are all things you can actually achieve without being with someone face to face. It does take an enormous amount of trust and faith in the person to consider them a girlfriend or boyfriend if you have never met. I do think however, that being with someone in person, touching them and spending time together are also important things that help validate a relationship. To have a healthy functioning relationship, you really need to be able to communicate in all ways and touching, kissing, even just the sense of being in a close space together are all things that shouldn't be overlooked.
If you are talking about an online realtionship,
Good signs would be things like:
They wont or claim to not be able to talk on the phone or do an online video call with you'
Catfish (Google it if you don't know who that is) says that having less than 100 friends in social media sites is a good sign.
If the person's pics all seem to be "professional or posed" (no pics taken by soeone else of them just hanging out - a natural shot) or if none of the pics on their social media page have been "tagged".
Ask the person to take a picture of themselves holding a piece of paper with your name..

First of all, for the record, I understand the inherent ridiculousness of this... the fact that I am mourning someone I've never met. I am also extremely mindful of how easy it is to play tricks and fool people on the internet. I am also very, very, very sure this is not a joke, for what it's worth...
