Fools learn from their own mistakes, wise men learn from the mistakes of others.
... I'm quite a fool sometimes it seems. I'm working on it though
When I first read this question, the thing that came to mind was the idea of teenage girls looking up to celebrities as role models. And through this lens, I think that people should never look up to one person as an example after which to live their lives 100%. People can have an influence on you or give you an idea of which traits you'd like, but the more someone idolizes and models himself after one person, they realize how many flaws the other person has that they didn't notice before.
To me, it is to gauge myself for getting the same or better standard in life. I love to pursue my goals with the example of those I admired. So, it helps to set my ambition in life.
