Which is more important, love or truth?

   Which is more important, love or truth?
   
   It seems sometimes there are situations in which telling the truth and acting lovingly are in conflict. Which do you think is most important? Is it it always the same?

   I don't believe there is a conflict most of the time. It comes down to "approach" and tactfulness. Some people identify being truthful with only being blunt but that is never a requirement. Truth is very much like criticism; it can be strictly negative or it can be tempered with encouragement. When you love someone you look for ways to build them up rather than tear them down.

   That's an interesting question... I believe that love is the ultimate truth. Where you have love, you have healing, creativity, cohesiveness and growth. Wherever love is not present, you have emotional sickness, impatience, banality, and destruction. But, if I had to choose, I would pick love because where there is love, we will find truth. Love.... rejoices with the truth: 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (A great definition of love and truth)

   I have always had the frame of mind, do not ask what you do not want to here. With that said, love and truth can coexist as long as there is a balance. As far as a relationship, truth is imperative. Without honesty (truth) there will be no trust. If there is dishonesty in any relationship, this will eventually tear it down.

   Speaking for myself, I value truth more than love. Maybe it's because I don't love easily. Maybe it's because I don't like people lying to me but I know I always cherish truth over love.
   
   This is simply because in love, there are so many shades of grey in between and people might be moved by their affection to create so much confusion and bias based judgement.
   
   Love can easily create the avenue for so much deception to come into place.
   
   But there can be only one truth.
   
   It is often said that the truth hurts and love can make excuses but the truth will always be the truth.
   
   Simply stated, for me to love you, you have to be ready to tell me the truth all the time!
   
   Anyway, that's just me. I always like to keep it real.
