Does friendship have a sell-by date? How do you classify someone as your best friend?
I have a friend who I've always considered to be my best friend. I really don't know what criteria we used to decide that we were best friends. Now of late we have really grown miles apart. I feel like she moved on after I confronted her for being inconsiderate of my needs. Whenever I text her she responds very graciously but after that she never takes the initiative to text me first. It's like she is just being polite. What do you think? Has our friendship run it's course?
The only way to find out for sure is for you not to initiate contact for 3 weeks and see if she checks in on you. If she doesn't then she probably still considers you to be her friend by maybe not her (best) friend.
It's also possible that she may have a (man) in her life. It's not uncommon for both women and men to pull away from their friendships and invest time and energy into their relationship. That's life!
