What a marvelous, thought-provoking question. The answer is absolutely yes! All through history, women have been treated as second-class citizens with no ability to participate in the politics of the society or in the determining of the social mores of the day. Until women are treated equally on all levels with men, we will always be suppressed to one degree or another.
