    No. Life is a (personal) journey.
    In a free society one is allowed to be into S&M if they so (choose) to with a partner who is willing. No one is "stuck' with anyone.
    All relationships are "at will" and everyone is entitled to have their own "deal breakers".
    Each of us is responsible for our own happiness!
    Each of us (chooses) our own friends, lovers, and spouse.
    The world has over 7 billion people on it. It's not "society's fault" if someone keeps choosing the wrong mates for them self. What they need to do is re-examine (their) mate selection criteria.
