If by feminism you mean (equality) for women I think you'd find most people to be in favor it. However if some buy into the extremism that its a requirement to be a "man hater" or blame men for every shortcoming/disappointment a woman has had in her life then that is far fetched.
I once heard such a woman proclaim that "all men are rapists".
Another once called a (stay at home wife/mother) a "gender traitor" for not agreeing with her on pro-choice and not supporting Hilary Clinton during the 2008 primaries. Any "movement" that is unaccepting of one's freedom to disagree and maintain their own "individuality" will have an uphill battle calling that equality.
Just recently an article was written by a columnist who was "disappointed" with Amal Alamuddin for legally changing her name to Clooney after marrying actor George Clooney.
Amal should be entitled to have her husband's last name without getting any backlash from feminists. Equality means living life on your terms. Any woman should have the right to hold onto whatever traditions (she) wants to. It's her life! One man's opinion!
I dont believe in bringing men down to get more rights.. Violence is also not the key to success. Equal opportunity
In Quebec, Canada, women dont change their last name. I always asked my mom why and Ive never understood.. They dont have the choice.
In Quebec do the children take on the last name of the father or the mother in a marriage?
Father usually.. It honestly depends on the person
That seems kind of odd to me. If the father and the children's last name is Jones and the wife/mother last name is Smith does she feel left out? In the U.S. it's traditional for married couples and their children to have one family last name.
In the rest of Canada, the female can choose to take his last name
Above question itself implies thinking one gender above another. This is the root of the problem.
The question should be "Do you believe in yourself?"
If a man deserves respect then so does a woman. If a woman is allowed to be sensitive then so does a man.
If things are bad for women then it will be wrong to blame only one section of a society and calling yourself feminists and ignoring the actual cause of a situation.
Believing in yourself and working in a righteous manner is important.
So yes, I believe in myself and I am a woman.
