If one is a drug addict or alcoholic it's probably best that they avoid those people they hung out with during those high/drunk times.
The truth of the matter is no one "changes" for {someone else}.
People generally don't change unless (they) are unhappy.
The individual has to HATE what they did/became or truly realize they came close to blowing the best thing in (their life) to make a change.
Otherwise it's the equivalent of putting someone on a "strict diet". It's not a matter of (if) they will cheat but (when) they will cheat.
If you're giving up alcohol why get a job as a bartender?
There's no reason to stay in contact with lovers he cheated with.
Assume you're correct that he is cheating or will cheat again.
Move on!
