What is the "Good News?" What is its purpose?

I have seen the term used among people on religious forums. I wonder if there is a unified understanding of the term.

ian 12 am , I am happy you agree also. You have expressed this subject in your words very good. I like your statement. it is a hope in a world full of trials and temptations and eternal life.

We birthed in the world now we can continue life .

I agree that the GOSPEL is the Good News! The Bible tells us that Jesus' birth, sinless life, death and resurrection are the good news. John 20:31 & 1 John 5:13 Bible written to give Good News and assure eternal life for believers

I am afraid that only those who think God speaks through them and tells them what to think --- would think there is only one understanding and that would be theirs that they claim it is God's. Are they really anointed prophets?

If your Hub were here, I would select it and give 5 stars. His coming was prophesied in the OT and we were told why. If Jesus' had come with no forgiveness of sin and eternal life, what would be the Good News?
