Before Saladin conquered his vast army in Jerusalem, the Muslim world was not united. Until these days, the Shia (traditional) and Sunni (majority about 90%) are still quarreling. Is this like the Christianity also? Separated in different sects?
Yes, Christianity has been broken up into tens of thousands of different sects all quarreling about their own personal interpretations of the Bible. They aren't really killing each other off like the Shia and Sunni are doing, but they certainly cause their share of conflict in the world.
They say never argue about politics or religion. No one can ever agree. Got to think the ruling classes love religion, because these people will forever never be able to unite against them.
