We are often told that we will meet our dead friends and family in Heaven and we'll all be happy. Will we also meet our old enemies in Heaven as well, or do they go somewhere else like into their own Heaven with their own family and friends? Do people have their own personal heavens where only their friends and family are present? How do you think this works?

I can respond from a Christian point of view.  We're told to love our enemies and, indeed, when we do so, we truly worry for them and pray for them.  What a blessing to see those who have belittled or hurt us end up in Heaven.

That's a nice thought, although not very human. People have enemies, jealousies and feelings of revenge. Forgiveness is devine, revenge is more human.

Hard to accept that two enemies have zero friends of friends of friends in common.  Seems more likely that enemies can continue their fight in heaven, in the god there permits it.  Or perhaps only people with no enemies will be there (leaves me out!).

everyone has their individual space. if you wish to see a friend then only will they appear in your allocated space. if you don't want to see an enemy you will never see them. if a friend is in hell you will see how they are doing in hell but they will not appear in your space. if you are in hell ... no wish will be granted. the minimum amount of space is thought to be the size of the world we live in for a single human being. the largest would take a few light years to cross. space is directly proportional to your intentions and actions in this world. Do good, and get more space up there.

this is all in my head... i have no references to give to you. smile

Interesting thought but I guess there may not be such things. Though all religion points the same features of heaven and hell, it's can't be adopted as you never see them. It's fear that create all sort of things.

Yes, fear is the root of belief.

yeah many worship because they fear something's not happen in their life. Most of religious leader use the fear of common people and fool them.

I honestly don't think we will feel the same way about things when we get to heaven because a lot of what drives us and how we feel has is connected to the chemicals in our bodies and brains.

When you see your enemy in heaven, you will be happy and joyful about it because he was saved and is with God doing Godly things.

Most people that believe in heaven also believe in the Lords prayer in Reference Bible Mt 6:9 “YOU must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. (Jehovah ) Psalms 83:18
Reference Bible Mt 6:10 Let your kingdom (Government) come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.

That prayer is asking God for the same heavenly conditions to spread down here throughout the earth.
Yes the earth will come to be heavenly.
Which means that all people will not have die to experience heaven .
Jesus was the first to be resurrected . He was able to say with all truth  and conviction, that at Reference Bible Re 1:18 and the living one; and I became dead, but, look! I am living forever and ever, and I have the keys of death and of Ha′des.

The bible makes it clear what happens when some one dies ,
    1. At King James Version Eccles 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

2.Reference Bible Ec 9:10 All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She′ol, the place to which you are going.
    Also

3.Reference Bible Ge 3:19 In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.”  No mention of going to heaven here.
Now that we know that our loved ones are not in heaven ,what did Jesus say on the subject further
Reference Bible Re 20:13 And the sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Ha′des gave up those dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds.
An appointed time of the resurrection was the clear hope of loved ones who had died,
Reference Bible Joh 11:24 Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
Martha new her brother Lazarus was not in heaven ,but was firmly aware his return would be in the future resurrection .  Also Jesus said himself that Lazarus was in a sleep.  Reference Bible Joh 11:11
So as the scriptures speak truth what hope do we have after death, the hope to return to this earth cleaned up ,in a paradise as Jesus mention to the thief next to him. At Reference Bible Luke 23:43 And he said to him: “Truly I tell you today, You will be with me in Paradise.”

The word hell has been used with the meaning of burning people for torture or punishment.

The truth is the word “hell” thus originally conveyed no thought of heat or torment but simply of a ‘covered over or concealed place.’ In the old English dialect the expression “helling potatoes” meant, not to roast them, but simply to place the potatoes in the ground or in a cellar.
So where did the word come from?
The meaning given today to the word “hell” is that portrayed in Dante’s Divine Comedy and Milton’s Paradise Lost, which meaning is completely foreign to the original definition of the word.
What does all this mean ? It certainly gives us a new view of Our Heavenly Father . He does not burn anyone, and if you die you have a hope of a resurrection. So fitting is the words found at
King James Version Ac 24:15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.
Question that is raised why would there be a real hell if you paid for your sins in death?
And Jesus paid for you with his perfect body.
Reference Bible Ro 6:23 For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.

Rev_2:11  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
Rev_20:6  Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Rev_20:14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev_21:8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

What do you have to say about the second death?

Luk_16:23  And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

Why was the rich man in torments after he died?

The second death if you notice in your list means a final seal of destruction not to ever return on the face of the earth ,just like if I was to use a fire to a destroy an object say a piece of paper ,you can never return it or its form back as it was originally ,So that is why fire is symbolized and also says death and hell was thrown in this symbolic fire . Meaning death will never exist as it does today.
Reference Bible Re 21:4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Another way to understand the second death from the scriptures ,if you died and was resurrected ,you will be given another chance called a judgement based on what you do from the new scrolls, you will be judged by what is written in the laws from that period . If you die from these laws that is the second death.because you were none compliant. Since death of illness and old age would not exist in the New world.
Reference Bible 2Pe 3:13 But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell.

Although the Bible quoting is appreciated, what do you think of my question in your own words and with your own thoughts? For example, do suicides go to Heaven and will they be resurrected; do they also see their loved ones?

Kiss andTalesposted 10 years agoin reply to this

I am glad you appreciate bible scripture because that is where the answer lies, in the bible the word of God. He is the one to determine what happens when a suicide takes place, my opinion means nothing ,because every life depends on him that give it, and when we lose it like a flame of a candle it is up to him to return the life force like the flame of a candle .
Will return to answer any questions ,we all have questions ,and the answers are right before our eyes.

Sorry for the delay based on family matters, but I am back to answers the questions you have posted.
Your first question was ,will we meet our dead loved ones in heavens ,well
Let's see what God says. First we have to understand what we are made of flesh and blood.
God almighty or our Heavenly Father is made of spirit material which is higher then human materials.

Also we know heaven also is the home of many angels. Thousands times thousands of angels live there.
Remember that Adam and Eve were created and placed in the garden of Eden on earth Reference Bible Ge 1:28 Further, God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.”

Remember God's purpose for the seeds of Adam and Eve was to fill the earth up of their own kind.
Fitting is scripture, American Standard Version Isa 45:18 For thus saith Jehovah that created the heavens, the God that formed the earth and made it, that established it and created it not a waste, that formed it to be inhabited: I am Jehovah; and there is none else.

So the heavens of God and Angels say nothing of filling humans with them only the earth was created for that.
Well let's look at other examples ,Reference Bible Ps 115:16 As regards the heavens, to Jehovah the heavens belong, But the earth he has given to the sons of men.
Reference Bible Ps 37:29 The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.
Here is clear righteous people are to inherit the earth not heaven.
Who are examples of good people to God.
King James Version Ac 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
Reference Bible Mt 11:11 Truly I say to YOU people, Among those born of women there has not been raised up a greater than John the Baptist; but a person that is a lesser one in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he is.
Reference Bible Joh 11:5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Laz′a·rus.
Remember Lazarus ,he was resurrected or awaken here on earth the heavens was not involved.
Let's also keep in mind that in God's own word the bible he tells us about the dead ,
Reference Bible Ec 9:5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten.
King James Version Ge 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
So what is the hope for people who have died ,Reference Bible Ac 24:15 and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
Here it clearly says the righteous and unrighteous will return basically to be given another chance of education, without satan's interfering . Re 20:12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. And the dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds.
We see that death has not ended your future. the bible is very clear there will be a resurrection   and many will be judge from that point of New Scrolls.
Also the bible is clear the earth will continue to exist with many survivors after the clean up.
What will we be doing getting the earth ready for the resurrection .homes need to be built , and earth globally beautified.
Reference Bible Isa 65:22 They will not build and someone else have occupancy; they will not plant and someone else do the eating. For like the days of a tree will the days of my people be; and the work of their own hands my chosen ones will use to the full.
Notice people will longer then the oldest tree. Which means we awaiting the fulfillment ,which is right in front of us.

Your question about suicide is a question most people have. And again the answer is in the Bible
Our Heavenly Father is the last one to decide if we are to be resurrected .
Reference Bible Re 20:13 And the sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Ha′des gave up those dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds.
Which is out of the New scrolls. The point even though a person has taken his life, only God knows the heart and mental condition  that caused this action.
Remember the wages of sin is death ,
Reference Bible Ro 6:23 For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.
So only our Heavenly Father could give a fair judgment about who is resurrected ,But we know millions will be. The bible clearly says Reference Bible Joh 5:28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice
Reference Bible Joh 5:29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.
Notice the people have been in tombs,
And they are remembered by the Heavenly Father.
That is why it is memorial tombs.
So yes suicide victims also have a hope.
