   - according to the online Dictionary:
   Adultery is "voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person who is not his or her spouse."
   
   
   Maybe the definition should be applied to ANYONE not married.
   "voluntary sexual intercourse between people who are not married."
   So many problems of society would be eliminated.
   How do we know it's original intent did not apply to all unmarried people?
   
   I wonder how many bad marriages would be prevented by couples waiting until after marriage to have sex?
   I wonder how many "homosexuals" would want to marry before they have sex?
   I wonder how many abortions would be prevented …
   How many forced marriages due to pregnancy would be prevented …

      What do mean, Adultery is the number 1 Sin in America.
      
      Personaly if one's love is dead for their partner, it's not unfair to move on. Nothing is deadier than a dead love. Although working  hard at any relationship is wroth it and more importantly your partner.

         I think that is too limited a definition.
         Adultery has to do with adulterating your own spirit.
           Do you really want to marry someone?
           If you have sex with them, you are marrying them. Casual sex is impossible.
         There is no such thing.
         Nothing takes away your own self and your own will faster than agreeing to have sex with someone.

            Sex would change up a relationship greatly. Not only is it the greatest pleasure on earth it's a serious personal bond and love between two people.
            
            Three of the top 5 sins in America are sex related. It would be better to education people about lessons in love that would serves us better in school and at home.

                  Dr. Murray Banks wrote a book and tapes on "lessons in Love"
                  
                  He defines love is when two people or thing are stronger together than each are apart. With little acts of  kindness.
                  
                  Banks believes love of all kinds should be taught everywhere. Love is the glue of the Universe.

      I'm afraid I disagree with you on this one. I see the problem with adultery as being one where you hurt a person who has the right to believe you cherish them within your circle. Hurting someone who is supposed to hold a special place in your heart. It's unkind on so many levels. Where, the kinder thing would have been to be open and honest.
      
      I don't see forced chastity as a solution. I see it as a a greater problem. Look at how Islam views women. I consider most of the clothing, the subjugation, etc to be an attempt to help men live by unrealistic standards.  Somewhat like what happened with the Catholic church for attempting to enforce ridiculous standards on their priests.
      
      You can't force spiritual growth. You can set down a set of guidelines, explain the value of the guidelines and live within the value of those guidelines. If others consider your example of value, they will follow. If not, they follow the guidelines they value and their lives are examples for others to view and consider.

   Furthermore, If the hard work comes before marriage and BEFORE sex, the relationship will last and be worth it. 
   I think most bad marriages are the result of a loss of belief in the other person's love.
   Each person must prove their love and devotion to the other BEFOREHAND.
   The other's SOUL is the important thing.

   If a person has not mastered these abilities as a matter of habit, forget it.
   If a person drinks, forget it,
   if a person is doing drugs, forget it.
   If a person just wants to have fun, forget it.

      You can't legislate morals. I don't know whether you noticed, or not, but there were strict moral guidelines in line with what you are proposing not too long ago. It didn't change anything; it simply stigmatized people who didn't operate within those parameters. Are you advocating we go back to that?

   with less emphasis on stupid mindless sex / procreation and more emphasis on the basically abandoned frontier of the mind!

      Once more, you are suggesting something that is impractical. It is the very rare person who is going to spend time contemplating the mind. Most people are just goin gto go about the business of living.
      
      That's fine if you want to contemplate (as I like to do as well). And we can in turn appreciate your ideas . Just don't expect everyone to follow suite.

         Well, I post for political reasons, in general.
         I want U.S. to be on the same page and not vote for the socialist agenda or whatever will cause the downfall of America.
         I probably lived during the fall of Atlantis and/or the Roman Empire in previous lifetimes …
         Since high school days, I have felt we are doomed from within. Look at Greece. It can happen.

   "Adultery", a definition of it and an act itself might appear in different light of scrutiny depending on its real consequence. Listening to the all-wisdom interpretation  adultery is an act of irreparable damage of the soul and a spirit of  the persons physically- bodily participating in as many would like to admit "freely exercised pleasure."

    Yes. promiscuous behavior has resulted in so much misery throughout time but especially today.
    all STDs are the result of promiscuousness.
    Michael… do you think the new SC marriage ruling will help to curb homosexual promiscuousness?

    but, I think the fear of catching an STD helps more.

    YES marriage according to the bible is when a person leaves his/her parents and unites with his/her partner thus as soon as they have sexual intercourse they are married although a weeding is been said to be given that the people with the ring on will know to leave the partners alone adultery is when you sleep with a married person fornication is when you do that just for sex and depart immediately going seperate ways where adultery may be when you always stay together for a while but but but truthfully speaking it is not murder it is a test from GOD that if we be honest enough tell him the truth that he made us active because i always tell him the truth and yes he permits me only because of honesty i tell him did you not give your promise to Abraham that he shall bread as numerous in the sky and sand in the sea sore now everyone has roots going down Abraham path so i tell GOD it is not you how made us active so to have children because of your promise i said your promise is bigger then the command he says yes i am permit-ed yet i do my best to be with one partner and have never messed around ye true but if i do he lets me because he knows i am active and do my best to obey him also when the command came out he is talking to the world those that are not believers so he is saying you are not permitted to bread evilness so he is giving it to the none believer but when you are a christian then you got his promise to bread but you still obey his command even if he permits you because his the best but if you mess up this is where we got to forgive one another for we are all active it is normal JESUS GOES BEYOND THE POINT TO ALL TRUTH SAYING EVEN IF YOU LOOK AT A PERSON WRONGLY YOU HAVE COMMITTED FORNICATION BUT HE DID NOT KILL THE adulteress BUT WHEN EVERYONE WANTED TO KILL HER IT WAS HE JESUS WHO SET HER FREE AND SAVED HER FORGIVING HER so we must forgive the wrongs of everyone then OK

       Yes, I believe we are always entitled to a clean slate… a long as we keep it that way.
       Even then, no matter how many times we fall, we are allowed to get back up.
       Because God loves his offspring and wants the best for us.
