Should Children Follow The Religion Of Their Parents, Or Should They Freely Choose Another Religion?

I think children should have the right to choose a religion if any. I'm a recovering ex-catholic and current agnostic but I refuse to impose my ideological beliefs on my son.

It all depends on what the raligion is.You got some pretty rough beliefs out there .I think finding your comfort zone in life is pretty imporant.Monkey see monkey do don't work any more.

Religion is not the answer to anything.. and especially for children.. Religion brainwashes children and puts fear in them.. Religion rapes children from having freedom. I think children should be able to choose who they want to be and what they want to believe without being indoctrinated with religion and illogical ideas.

I fully support allowing children to choose what (if any) religion is right for them. If someone were forced to be a Christian by their parents (and I'm using Christianity as an example only because of its prevalence where I live), would they really be a Christian? Most religions are about faith, and faith isn't something that can be forced on a person.

I think it is the responablity for the parent to raise their children in a Religion that they practice, only while the child is at a early age. After the child becomes old enough to make their own minds up , then they should freely choose their Religion of their choice or stay with the way they were brought up.

In childhood nobody knows what the mean of religion, they follows only what there parents teach. When he/she become younger then they will have to decide to stay with there parents religion or to choose Another Religion.

My take is, they could choose whatever they want but not any evil paths that is non-sense and harmful. The parent's responsiblity should be to guide them to think, with wisdom, and know what is right or wrong. Not to brainwash them or inject your thoughts, but to teach them to think.
