I have no answers... I believe I am a Deist who believes the creator has abandoned us.... I don't know what to think about the specific details one finds in the ancient books....

This is a difficult question to answer with just a line or three but I'll attempt it.

We are the life in everything and every thing.  There is no difference between life in a tree, a rock or a human being except that the material complexity which makes up the tree, rock, or human is subject to a sort of evolution, as if Life is deliberately experiencing itself as it evolves.

This Life has qualities, one of which is unconditional love.   We - our ego conditioned minds with which most of us identify - can occassionally sense what we are.   But for the most part we " see through a glass but darkly."

    Hope this has helped.
