   I've discussed this with a few liberals in the past and I belive it means they are pro-choice and do not consider homosexuality to be a sin. They base this in part on the fact that the Gospels (which were not written by Paul) are silent when it comes to abortion and homosexuality. Also they see Jesus as commanding us to be non-judgemental and the left leaning Christians believe the right-wingers are judgemental. Also they see right-wing Christians "cherry-picking" which old Jewish laws they wish to follow (see Leviticus)....

   That could simply mean that they are wise enough to realize that the past G.O.P. administrations, though claiming to be "Christian," needlessly started wars with other nations in order to make profits for their corporate and lobbyist friends via reconstruction contracts, and oh, so much more!
   
   You see, being a Christian precludes you from being a globalist, or a war mongering, profiteering, lying, thieving republican.

   It basically means they are of the Christian faith but their political beliefs lean to the liberal side. Christians have a reputation for being conservative thus right-oriented in the political spectrum.  The impact from that is to say that they person embraces the teachings of the Bible yet is not against abortion or sexual preference issues.  I remember an old term from the south called "Hard-Shelled Baptist" which I think was probably used in the same light to describe those who stuck with the teachings of the church to the letter of the law. In this case the person is acknowledging that they believe in a higher power but do not subscribe necessarily to positions traditionally taken by those of the Christian faith...a "Burger King Christian!" WB
