You can read about neocathecuminate in the internet but you will find it hard to understand. I said in Spain more catholic are member and in some countries too even in pakistan. Don't worry who knows your conversion is on the way already.

Hi beautyrose.  At first I thought you were talking about the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).  But now I see the Neocatechumenal Way is something different.  What I have read so far is that it is to renew the life of the family which involves the sending of three, four, or five whole families to certain areas to spread the teachings of the Second Vatican Council and encourage vocational calls.  Does that mean missionary families to be placed in the world where there are very few Catholics?  Or am I wrong altogether?  Does it have to do with the Youth Days?  I'm interested in hearing more.  Maybe you or Valerie could clue me in?

I like how Pope Benedict has said that the Latin Mass should be said in all dioceses.  It is offered in my area on the first Sunday of each month.  I like the Old Liturgy very much and would attend it every week if it was offered here.  It's like going back in time to when I was a kid.  I'm also reading that the Latin Mass is encouraging vocations in itself.

      1. beautyrose profile image60
beautyroseposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Oh Latin is nice to listen but I don't understand Latin sorry.

Yes those activities are done by active catholic
neocathecuminate. You may Inquire in some catholic parish about it though not all parish have neocathecuminate. Actually I feel blessed being in the neocathecuminate member and I want to know if we have some fellow hubbers who are member of it or who knows maybe next time they will eventually become a member after a series of evangelization and you are welcome to join also.

Thanks beautyrose, maybe I'll try to find some more information about it online.  If it has something to do with the Youth Days then that would be why I don't know much about it.  They are restricted to anyone over 35 years of age.  There are missals with Latin on one side and English on the other at the back of the church that I go to for the Latin Mass.  I find the Latin Mass very reverent with the priest saying the Mass facing the alter, Gregorian Chant, and the Eucharist received on the tongue while kneeling, the way it has always been.  It's very beautiful.

Its not limited to the the youth. People from all ages can join. Couple, single woman and man. Young and old.

    cool.  another discussion on religion.

one would think that with all the lost souls searching for god, somehow, he'd be inclined to make a personal appearance.

        hey goodfriend,
        it's camera equipment.  4x5.

still, i'll stick to a spiritual awareness theory.  i like it best because you don't see people trying to cram their spirituality down people's throats.  that's only one reason.  there are many more.

oh, i wasn't directing the comment to you tantrum.  i guess it was a general statement and if asked to be specific, would say it was in reference to last evening's sermon on the mount.

I agree with you there whole heartily....big_smile  It ain't fun when someone is always pointing out your failures to ya, well good to see ya! Oh by the way I figured that was camera equipment. Are you taking pictures in a stream? I enjoy photography myself, only I just use my digital for now.

blue dogposted 14 years agoin reply to this

yes, it's along vermont's mad river (kinda ironic, considering the original topic of discussion here).  yes, the digital camera has entered my world as well.  the 4x5 is rarely removed from the pack these days.  rather sad, in a way, as it has allowed me to see so much over the years.  hopefully in time i'll learn to love more about the digital one other than the no-film hassles.

Love is neither a religion or invention of men.

Love searches for lost souls who search for love.
Love is always present to be received, yet is often refused and they search for love in other people, places and things.
Yet they remain empty of pure love even though love waits with arms wide open.

Love is very simple, available to all.
Love is not found in a place or object one can see with the eye.

The nearest country you have to go is Spain. And when you are there visit a catholic church and inquire about neocathecumenate in that parish if you found the one then you'll lucky enough to have the answer from  the priest or any member of that community.
