If god is almighty, can he create a rock that is so heavy that he can't actually lift it ?
In hunduism, it is believed that god is just the ultimate conciousness and we contain individual conciousness. In the Bhagavad-Gita, Lord Krishna explains that no one can defy nature. It is believed though most miracles are thought of to be present in Hindu stories however, according to the Vedas, it is believed that there are systems that the universe work according to and each system has a governing conciousness.
The answer to your question, YOU HAVE THE WRONG CONCEPT OF GOD! OR maybe I have the wrong concept of God. Each religion has its own concept of god and each individual their own therefore, this question is irrelevant!
I believe the God is a person. He looks like us (we are his children), but He is perfect. Nobody and nothing is better or more powerful. Since He is perfect, He never lies and never makes mistakes. This is why I enjoy reading his teachings, promises and prophecies in the Bible.
His whole concern is the spiritual welfare of his children. If we keep his commandments and behave according to the consciousness He has given us, we grow spiritually. In other words, we become more like him, more perfect and more happy.
So, I don't think God is concerned with the power thing. He is not trying to impress us with his might. Therefore, I don't think He would ever waste his time to create the heaviest rocks or attempt to break any other records, etc. He loves us and if we accept his invitation to follow his directions, he will give us all He has (including his character and the joy He experiences).
God created the entire universe. That alone should answer your question. There is NOTHING that is too difficult for Him.
Lets look at this logically, if God is almighty, than "it" would be able to paradoxically be able to lift the rock, while at the same time have the object remain unmoved. "Water water everywhere but not a drop to drink" type of situation. That being said, It is quite obvious that a God existing within our four dimensions, that is the 4 dimensions that we as physical beings can observe: length, width, height, and time, is just not the case. We can trace all matter back to the Big Bang, so if there is a God, it would have to be able to create matter out of nothing, So it does not and can not live within our physical realm alone. So to further answer your question, God probably does not deal in weight and measurements as we know them.
It is without doubt that God could create a rock that heavy, in fact God already created one such rock which has grown too heavy even for His own will power to lift and carry, that piece of rock is called EARTH.
When God became flesh, how heavy do you think was it for Him to carry that cross on his back while he was on his way to his place of crucifixion in Calvary?

Is Atheism really just another religion or faith based concept? It seems like the notions that there is a God or there is not a God, are both founded in belief because there is not proof either way. Well there is proof, but not conclusive in either direction. So aren't organizations with set forth...
