Does scriptural truth offend you?
The word is raw and convicts many, that is why you will find many who don't want anything to do with Jesus. We have a New covenant ( New Testament ) that gives you everything you need to live a happy and a fulfilled life John;10vs10. It doesn't matter who you are, there is freedom in Christ Galatians chp;5. The bible does not contradict itself, and you can't get around by picking and choosing certain vs & chp's that fit into your lifestyle. We are all sinners, but we can change and mature to be who Christ wants you to be. You cant skip a page that does not suit you. Conviction is a good.
you ask if "scriptural truth " offends. if it was actually the truth then i'd be happy to read it but since it is just a bunch of opinions written by men over a thousand years ago, i just find it pointless.
I don't have to prove the word of God, Jesus did that 2000 years ago. Also, before the New covenant (New Testament) we have the Old Testament. All in all' dates back around 8000 years. So where you get the 1000 from i don't know?
In chronological order from beginning to end, the bible does not contradict itself once. Its a book of books, 66 in total. It is raw truth, and many do not like certain chapters & verses if it does not fit into there lifestyle.
I read from a KJV or NKJV as i find them to be most accurate. But there's also a book called cover to cover, which takes you through the whole bible in chronological order. Maybe worth a buy?
I agree 100% with nightwork4. What is considerd "scriptural truth" doesn't offend me, but it irritates me than so many consider metaphor and parables the "truth."
We are so blessed to even be able to read the Holy Word of God, Thank You Jesus Christ! Your Word is alive & literal. I thank You, Christ, for allowing these comments to remind me that You are nearing Your physical return.
You see, I take Gods Word literally! I believe He created the Earth in 6 literal days...and rested on the 7th. I believe Jonah was swallowed by a large sea creature and was spewed out later! I believe Christ died for all of our sins...before, present & future sins. I believe Christ went to Paradise & hell and preached to the lost souls and taking the keys of death away from that devil and rose again to life, cooked dinner several times for His followers before rising into the Heavens after 40 days! I believe it ALL!
I do not need clothes, a house, friends, food, or even oxygen!!!! I need Christ only,...yes, because the Bible told me so! Amen and all praise to the Eternal Father of Lights, the Risen and Alive Jesus Christ.
Yes I can skip a verse that does not fit me. Yes I can determine some verses do not apply, to today. And yes I can be an intelligent Christian. Jesus never ever indicated your rules.

Why has the study of Christianity become so Old Testament-based in recent years?Growing up Catholic, I always felt the emphasis was on the philosophy and spirit of Christ. Old Testament study and emphasis by modern day Christians often seems to me , despite the obvious historical connection, the...

Without delving into a lot of deep studying on the origins of words, I'll make a suggestion. Could it be that Jesus was redefining what God is when He called Himself the Son of Man?THink about it: He often referred to God as His Father, right? And then He refers to Himself as the Son of Man....

Was the Law nailed to the cross when Jesus died? Many Christians believe that the Law is done away with or nailed to the cross. Do you believe this and why?
