Homosexuality has always been around, the only reason why it seems to be on the increase is that people are no longer scared of being identified as gay in most parts of the world today. Homosexuals are therefore now free to come out in the open and exercise their freedom of association.
Politics has advanced in some countries that include 'gay rights' such as same-sex marriage, sperm donors for gay women as well as adoption for same-sex couples. Rallies and festivals have increased public "Awareness" in communities and on a Global scale.
I like that you asked that question. I'll give you the exact answer, and you can decide whether or not you believe it.

I have a real hard time denying something when the answer is so clear.
Is it on the increase or is it just that homosexuals are more open now about their sexuality because it is now more widely accepted?
It isn't. It just seems that way because gay people are asserting their rights, and most heterosexuals have learned that gay people are no threat, and stopped oppressing them. There are probably no more gay people per capita now than there were a hundred years ago.
I think wilbury4 was right on point with this one. As time moves forward, this kind of thing becomes more mainstream. You hear more about it now than you did 10 years ago because it was more in the closet back then. It is slowly becoming more acceptable to society, just like tattoos and many other things.
It is not increased, it is ppl not being scared anymore.
Homosexuality has been here since time and memorial, it just so happen that in our time, they have been brave to come out in the open. And nowadays, they are accepted in the society.
They have been very vocal and been very aggressive to be acknowledge as the 3rd sex.

If gays and lesbians started their own church, then they could get married. And nobody could stop them, because they would be protected by the first amendment, the freedom of religions act.And of course they would also be able to save a lot of money, because most religion do not pay taxes.

(After I noticed that the thread Will homosexuals go to heaven or hell when they die? have 740 replies [10:00], I decided to write the following...)The prequel/sequel to the Bible has been written and is entitled There Are No Coincidences - there is synchronism. In it, is the message from God of...

Will homosexuals go to heaven or hell when they die?I'm an atheist, but I've always thought that the Bible adamantly condemns homosexuality. Do homosexuals have any chance of getting into heaven? This has always confused me. In God's eyes, is being homosexual no more different than...
