    Is it really necessary to concentrate on the breath while mediating ? The whole point of mediation is to become aware that I am not the body but a consciousness traped in the body . So what we should be really doing is forgetting the whole body isnt it ?

    how can you come out of the body if your whole concentration is on the body

    More over the back starts paining after a while and we retire

    So i feel the only way to do it is to forget any thing related to the body while meditating .... some times i feel if i was a tree , i would not feel the body pain and can meditate for ages and ages
