Someone gave my 13yr old and 9yr old a neckless with a cross and a symbol of Jesus attach to it should I remove the neckless or the symbol of the cross and is it right to wear a symbol of a man they say is Jesus????
to me that has always been one of my problems with christianity. if i'm not wrong, it says they shouldn't worship false idols and since not one person knows what jesus looked like or if it was even a male, they are worshiping a false idol.
A cross or crucifix are symbols of the Christian faith. There is nothing wrong with letting the kids wear them, unless it goes against your own personal beliefs. They are not false idols, like a previous commenit stated, unless someone actually is worshipping them. They are merely meant to be a symbol of one's faith.
It is idolatry.
The Bible says to make no graven images and worship it.
Christians worship Jesus and not God. They think Jesus was God. It is idolatry nonetheless
The crucifix is a symbol of Catholicism, which is essentially a pagan religion of man-made doctrine. The crucifix is different than a cross without Jesus' body. I don't have an opinion about whether it is wrong to wear a cross, especially if you are a believer. One could argue that it is a "graven image." Certainly the crucifix is a graven image; further it is an image of a false religion. Jesus rose from the dead; He doesn't hang on the cross. Believers don't crucify Him at every communion like the Catholics do. I would not wear a symbol of a religion I do not subscribe to; if it were my child I would use this as an opportunity to discuss religion and social etiquette with my child. A thank you note is in order -- or a polite refusal of the gift with a thank you and an explanation.

I just read a post from someone stating that Christianity is based on the Bible which stands to reason, "If Christianity is based off the bible then that means it would have never come to furition since the book would never have been written because no Christian would have existed before...

Do you think that religion effects the way we deal in our day-to-day life and the way our personality has been molded? Is drinking, rape, murder, assault and other such things have to do with religion or is it just because of the heredity or the environment in which the person lives?

After reading and contributing to so many posts about Christianity on here I'd love for someone to answer this question. Which form (if any)of Christianity is the real deal? It's one thing to get into heated debates over who believes in what religion, but it seems strange to me that there are so...

Two relatively similar people are presented with the Bible and the message of Christianity. Person one takes to it eagerly. Person two pushes it as far away as it will go. What is the difference between these two people? Lets add that the two people have identical upbringings, are the same sex,...
