That's a kinda weird question.
God doesn't have to have a religion to follow, because He is God.
Christianity is the only "religion" He advocates.
and a weird answer. If hes not religious than why should we be anything but believers in god. Yea there's Christianity and many others which follow different religion. That got people seperation rathar than combination. God has no religion why should we? love all and thank s for replieng.
God isn't tolerant of "religion(s)".
He is God.
So it's not a magic formula where you can insert whatever ingredients you want to.
It's a serious thing.
It's about souls.
The goal of Christianity is for souls to be saved.
And Christ didn't come to "combine" all beliefs into one.
He actually came to "separate" people's beliefs. He came to issue us all a challenge to make a choice between Him and evil.
Really ?
Who told you that?
Who's King is Jesus?
God tells us that in His words in the Bible.
Jesus is the King of all who believe in Him and follow Him.
I have never seen that in The Bible.
Can you tell me where it is written that "Christianity is the only "religion" He advocates."
I don't recall Jesus saying He came to start Christianity.
I thought Jesus said He was the King of a certain people, at least that is what He told Pilate.
do you know the New Testament origin?
If you knew then you will not be so sure.
It's an interesting question. By definition, religion is a belief, and we can assume God believes in what he expects us to believe. However, he is also the reason we believe, so can we assign a belief to him?
Perhaps a better analogy would be socialism. Karl Marx is often known as the father of socialism, so did he believe in it? He must have for him to write about it. So, was he a socialist? I think so.
Still, I think the question is more pointed toward resolving *which* religion God is. I think the only answer that fits is that God is of all religions that believe in God.
That's not to say he is the student ... but rather ... he is the teacher.
only every man has his opinion and that is all we know for certain. God or source, consciousness, whichever we call this can have no religion as religion puts god in a box. and the religious people carry their god in a box and say terrible things about anyone who does not have their kind of box.
I minored in comparative religions, so don't come after me telling me I don't know anything. I've learned that to argue only refutes the entire concept of what God is supposed to be.
nice thread Koma.
Man invented religion as well as God. It's all in the human mind. Mind games.
Revealed Religions are the enemies of God. God reveal him self through nature, which is the true word of God. Anyone can said that scriptures were created and change by man. But no one can say that men created the sky the ocean, the trees.
However, I believe that religions should be studies in the context of philosophies topics. Not everything in them are bad. The only bad thing about religion is the inhibition of free thinking. The aims to control the peoples thought. That aspect of religion is enemy of God. Out of that, religion should be study as part of our culture. Life can not be base in pure science. Science is good, but has it specific applications and do not cover other things like art, history, social science.
agree not all is bad if used for good. The truth is its not easy for me, born a jew in russia not even knowing the word in russia. finding out later when i was 10. I was very confused. all religions ,different cultures it was fun to figure out. I couldnt see my self following but i admit it feels good to watch sometimes. now i just belive in god period and all of you. i really love all people and believe will be ok if we all love eachother more. Whats good and bad about religion you tell me? Why has religion brought wars? o in my opinion yes it did. or did it?
Я рад слышать, что вы верующий, и теперь рады, что вы познали Бога.
Вы все еще живут в России? Вы знаете, что мессианский еврей? Та, которая верит в Мессии?
ummm who lives in russia? mesia? Iam not religious iam just me.
Нет, это не означало, что я не сказал.
Я просто так спросил, если вы когда-нибудь слышали о евреях, которые знают, Иисус?
Я спросил, если вы живете в России?
no iam here in america, and yes i heard of all different religions. please write in english, i want other people to understand. thanks love.
I believe that the fullness of God is inside you and me. So you are part of that God. You do not need to do things for this become a reality. It is our true nature. That is the beauty of God.
Check this out:
We love to talk about the nature as it were something apart from us. But it is not. We are nature. We have the same origin. But because we forgot about this, we destroy our lovely planet. If we only knew that we are nature, then we could realize that destroying the Earth is destroy ourselves.
Same with God. WE believe that God is an old man in the sky apart from us that creates us to follow his law because if we don't, we will go to hell to suffer, cry, and burn(oh, but he loves you).
But if we understand that God is within us, and that we are God, we will never go to wars(that would be fighting against ourself). Then we also could understand that diversity is part of God natures. So having deferents thoughts about things would not be catalog as sin or bad behaviors, but different perspective. In a world full of tolerance and respect, peace can be found. But in world where every religion see each other as enemies, how will peace be promoted. Then peace and religion can not go together. We need to see God inside of us, free of religious prejudice in order to do good to the other people, be cause they are filled with the same spirit with in us. We can not hurt other person without hurting us, since we are all under the fullness of the same spirit.
Religion is defined by Merriam-Webster as:
Main Entry: re·li·gion
Pronunciation: \ri-ˈli-jən\
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English religioun, from Anglo-French religiun, Latin religion-, religio supernatural constraint, sanction, religious practice, perhaps from religare to restrain, tie back — more at rely
Date: 13th century
1 a : the state of a religious b (1) : the service and worship of God or the supernatural (2) : commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance
2 : a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices
3 archaic : scrupulous conformity : conscientiousness
4 : a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith
1b1 says that religion is the service and worship of God. I do not think God worships Himself.
1b2 says that religion is a commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance. I do not think God operates on faith - I believe He is omnitient (sp?).
The second definition of religion could potentially apply to the Creator of the Universe, I think. He has a certain attitude regarding humanity, however, He doesn't personally attest to certain practices or beliefs.
God is NOT archaic, but He is conscientiousness.
I guess I don't know, honestly. My gut instinct is to say that God is above "religion" per se, but at the same time He DOES ask His followers to ascribe to a certain set of beliefs and attitudes. (The interpretation of His requests is where the different religions come from, I think.)
**Please note that I used the verbs "think" and "believe." That implies that what I write is an opinion, not fact. I'm not pulling Scripture to back up my opinion, I am merely basing my opinion on my interpretation of the dictionary.
Everything about GOD is special and I never doubt that whatever happens in my life is GOD's will....there are no words like could'a..should'a.....would'a...there are just not those words if you understand that you will be a happier person if you never think those words...you just have got to trust GOD no guestions asked and yes to answer your guestion....GOD is GOD and there is nothing else..there is no guestions..there is just GOD
thres aloso your will and your karma. how you treat others is your will, and how they treat you is your karma. God sees no color or hears no religion. love all
no never did it wasnt cool to be a jew. alot of russian christians didnt like jews did you know that? also America is the only country which lets you practice everything. You have no idea what type of treatment religion brings upon itself? Is god religious? love all
Okay thanks for the answer.
No I was not aware of the treatment of Jews but I am not surprized.
God is not religious.
Sarcastic comments when I was asking a polite question.
I did not know that Jews met on Sunday
I did not know that they met in a church.

I couldnt even imagine going back to germany knowing the history. Now iam beging to awken little by little. ill be back tommorow please continue ill read tommorow. love all. gods, godess, brother and sister to. Stay positive as the whole world not divided groups. Peace.
no i dont, english, russian sorry if i mispelled alot.
LOL I should have been more clear, sorry. This was the answer to the title question, nothing to do with your question. Sorry again.
okay cool...it just fell right in a spot where it looked like you meant it the other way.
We can see God, Demons, Angels, etc, as a mirror of our self. Some times in life we are like God, doing the good, creating, loving everyone. But other times we could be demons doing bad things, destroying, hurting some people. We can be angels also, serving the world, our friends and even enemies.
May be the karma is teaching us to transform from evil creatures, to divine creatures. An the ultimate aim in this world is to become God. I 'm just thinking.
i really like what you said that went in my heart. deep.
I am glad to hear that. Do you have 2 minutes? Watch this video at youtube and tell me what you think: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XL8LvaJ9Rc
I watched it and heard no mention of Holiness and the need to be holy to worship God.
Isn't refreshing hearing that from a former christian bishop? After living decades in a ministry which is based in a doctrine of salvation through Jesus...and then he change his vision of an exclusive God, to an Inclusive God.
Nothing new there.
Plenty of folks run out and make god in their own image and likeness.
The Master said "be holy just as your Father in heaven is holy"
But then again The Master is NOT "all inclusive" and neither is His Father.
I understand your point. The thing is that the Master probably never said that. IT is found in the gospels at the Bible. I know. But the gospel were not authorize by Jesus. They were not written during Jesus lifetime, but 3 to 4 decades after he die. It is easy to change an image of a person within that frame of time.
I suppose you think The Master did not give the revelation to John either.
No.
What are you thought about that? Do you believe in the New Testament?
The Bible can be agood book, but I can not see it as the Word of God.
Maybe you can clarify exactly who you think Messiah is?
Well, I do not feel I have all the answers(or the correct answers) to that type of question.
But at the moment I can say this:
If Jesus existed, then I see him as a person who fully lived the experience of having the fullness of God inside of him. Fully understood the greatness of that truth and transmitted to others(and probably some people misunderstood him). Jesus was with God and was God. But not as the second person of the Trinity... but as a human like us. God incarnate in every person which come to this world. We can said, I am with God, and I am God, since God is the living essence inside us. If God do not existed inside of me , then I could not live because God is the life.
He is a good speaker and he makes sence just like everyone else let me talk to him in person and ask him What is your religion? And why did religion cause death? or did god? as long as i can quistion i will sometimes the answer is silent. Meditate and let your soul feel no stress in life and after. Love has to be felt through us and god will watch as we ease into peace. i wish all a good night. All remember to love all people they will love you back iam sure, thats all we want is love. i can go on forever let me stop. good night and check out my youtube joke and laugh a little. if you answer ill read tommorow.
Anyway. The only thing I wanted to share is the vision I have of God.
Religion is man made. A perversion of what ANY God would stand for! To seperate ourselves from each other due to race, religion or creed.
There is only ONE God, but too many ignorant, self-egotistical and cuniving men in this world, who I wouldn't be surprised if they were demons themselves, trying (and succeeding) to control the masses.
We are ALL gods, spirits walking the earth with fleshly garments, not flesh walking with spirit.
As soon as we understand that, the better off man will be. Control and command your universe, we were created by God in his image.
No religion, it's a relationship with your spirit man!
"God created spirituality, Satan organized it and called it religion."
Give two men a million dollars ... one might give it to the poor, while another might use it to help finance a war ...
The money isn't evil ... it's how it's applied. The same goes for religion. Religion, in itself, is not evil ... it's how it's applied that determines how it will be viewed later.
For every religious person who has ever done wrong ... there are also those who have done right. Mother Theresa enters at the top of my list.
Of course ... the media already knows that good news doesn't sell as well as bad news, so they will sensationalize the priest who has improper relations with ten young boys, but overlook the priest who goes out to Africa and helps people rebuild their lives after protracted wars between fighting clans.
Religion is not a substance capable of good or evil ... it is merely a suggested lifestyle that anyone can chose to embrace, ignore, or hone to their own evil wile.
Does not bothers you when politician say: God Bless America.
How about God Bless the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, Central and South America, and everyplace in this World! God is not American, as he is not christian neither.
God Bless All the ones reading this forum post... and also the ones who have not read it!.

I normally pay no attention to religious discussions. Partially because people tend to loose their minds when the "R" word is mentioned. However, due to recent attention from the media on religious people who make fools of themselves by way of ridiculously over zealous beliefs that make...
