what religion calls for lenghthy fasting (water only). i'm worried about a family member
i didn't think that would happen that fast and i'm not going to get into any lenthy discussions, but she is my major cause for concern-she has not ate anything for 10 days--says it is for religious reasons that she will not discuss with me
can you let her email me? im not being a jerk.....,
ok, on my wii n typing sux...PLEASE mail me? will be back online tuesday? i know shit sux.`,,,..
Ten days. Holy smoke. I don't know of any religion that goes that long. I don't blame you for being worried. Is there someone else she confides in that you can talk to? Or try to approach her with the health issues and leave the religious part alone? Try to reach her somehow, this doesn't sound healthy at all to me... Good luck, blessing you both and hope you find a way.
Buddhism?
Some sects of Christianity? (I can't think of any specifically but I sure some do around this time of the year)
i don't think it has anything to do with the time of the year
not confiding in anyone--seems to not care about the health issues--i did promise her i would stay off hub pages after the last episode , but i was hoping to reach out to her somehow. she really has some severe issues
NA's fast but only 4 days n that's it guided by someone of experience in such matters too. Ten days is BS and she will have health issues. I would suggest calling a ambulance soon and they may put her in psychiatric care for observation.
what is NA--i can not put her back in unless she passes out or harms herself physically
native americans NA's ..sorry, lol..fasting is done for spiritual reasons but only 4 days with help from one with experience. Never heard of any 10 day fast n should be of great concern.
That she says it's for "religious reasons" she refuses to discuss, and that she's gone for 10 days without any food raises a million red flags. No religion calls for fasting that long.
Even the Coptic Orthodox Church, which practices the most fasting of any religious group, allows some food to be taken at certain times of day depending on the individual's health and spiritual needs.
well--today makes 14 days with water only--any other thoughts--how long till she faints so i can do something about it. i can't do anything till that happens according to the law
today is 21 days since the fast / food strike began. she has lost at least 40 lb. and looks like a walking skeleton. still no help from the mental health people. they still say as long as she can walk and make decisions , they can do nothing. I'm not religous , but a few words may help.-And yes , i am talking about smokenchic

I'm just wondering... I've only been on HubPages a few short weeks, but I've noticed from the Forums and the Religious section that it seems like the majority of people on here seem to be anti-Christian. I just recently posted an answer in a forum in which I mentioned the love of God. What I wrote...

After reading and contributing to so many posts about Christianity on here I'd love for someone to answer this question. Which form (if any)of Christianity is the real deal? It's one thing to get into heated debates over who believes in what religion, but it seems strange to me that there are so...

Many people claim to have experienced talking to God or Jesus directly, or at least claim to have recieved a strong sign or a strong answer to a prayer. Have any of you had one? Also, how would you know when someone has or hasn't had a genuine religious experience (as some people's...

Atheists pick and choose those verses in the bible that leans in the direction that proves the bible is false Religionists pick and choose those verses that lean to proving the bible to be true. WHAT is UP with that? Proving that religion has ran rampant, or NOT...

Is faith compatible with doubt?I am a Christian and familiar with that tradition, but I am also curious what members of other religions say about reconciling belief with doubt. My only request is that when answering this question is that you provide support from whatever you consider to be an...

Is a true spiritual fast water only or juices also, and what is the best way to start and end one?
