Not so much Christianity, but the attitudes of others towards Christianity. While other faiths/religions do experience persecution, history shows that Christianity has been the target of the majority of religious persecution since its beginning in the early first century AD.
The persecution is not always open and violent, either. While I used the 'AD', the current trend is to use the 'CE'- Common Era, and 'BCE'- Before the Common Era, rther than referencing Christ and the Year of our Lord.
