This is hilarious but worth pondering...like if a tree falls in the forest is a man still stupid? I guess in order to be secret, they can't be known to exist. Since societies claim to be secret, then we know they exist. However, what they Do in that meeting may be secret, but then it may not. If so, then its really a society that does secret things, not a secret society. But I'm sure there are secret societies because "they" say there are. But then, am I just taking someone's word for it that really doesn't know either? I'm sorry, just had to play too. :-)
I agree with Karre if people know about the society, then it is a society that does secrete things not a secret society. For a secrete society to exist there should be no evidence anywhere that the society exist, only the members should know that the society exist.
The evidence of the things that they do in secret are revealed.
If there was no such term, there would be no need to use secret societies as a reference to something; it would not exist.

Why are secret societies, like the masons, rosicrutians etc secret? They are supposedly modern mystery schools, and the ancient mystery schools were secret as well. What's the secret, and why are they hiding? I can understand that during the middle ages that they had to hide things from the church,...

Many believers like to say that Atheists should prove that there is no God. Believers should know that existence has to be proved, not the non-existence. If a thing exists, it is possible to prove its existence. So believers should prove the existence of God if he exists. But if they want to do it,...
