Why all religions at a level work against women?
For last several days, a news item, about Taliban's public trial and death award to a woman on account of adultery, is disturbing me. I can understand that societies are having their specific moral standards. But I have never read anywhere about punishing men in such manner. While the provocation came from the news on Talibans, it has nothing to do with any specific religion. In all the religions, the expectations on moral (debatable) issue is higher for women and the punishment on account of violation is far harsh for women than men. Why is it so?
religion is about weak men trying to control the masses and women have been the easiest targets next to children throughout history. one thing i've noticed about the main religions is that "god" is always a male which is ironic since women are the ones who give birth, raise the kids and nurture them.
punishment in islam is not harsher for women its equal.its just that men are powerful they escape punishment.women are weaker so its easy to punish them thats all.

I see we have a bunch of female religionists preaching what we should be doing, but I am confused. God made it pretty clear that women were to be seen and not heard - they are, after all, subservient to men and should...
