Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto your on understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy paths.   Proverbs 3:5,6

Many are the plans in a man's heart but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.  Proverns 19:21

*Proverbs...  This verse taught me to pray that God would give me a desire to do His will rather than my own.

As a teenager I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior.  I came from a dysfunctional home and my confidence was small.  This verse taught me and gave me the courage to know I could be strong (through Christ's Strength) whatever came my way.   "I can do ALL things through Christ who gives me strength." Phil. 4:13

The twenty-third Psalm and 91st Psalm both mean much and have given me strong faith to live by.

I Peter 5:10- But the God of all grace, who has called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

    2 Corinthians 4:16-18

"So we do not lose heart.  Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day.  For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen.  For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."

As I age and my health is becoming a challenge, I find this passage very comforting.

32 years ago I took Matthew 6:33,34 as my "life verses" and they have proven the Lord's faithfulness more times than I can say.

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those that love it will eat it's fruit" (Proverbs 18:21).   That verse has really helped me a lot, because it made me realize how powerful our words are, and how everything we speak can either bring life or death.  Jesus says that by our words, we are justified, or condemned.  He said that one day, each one of us will have to give an account for every single thing we do and say and think.   And it says that we overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb, and the word of our testimony.

Our words are SO important!  smile
