Because the observable universe consists of an infinitely large, and intricately interwoven, collection of cause-and-effect series. Every effect is traceable to a cause, which is an effect of a previous cause, which is itself an effect of a previous cause, etc. All these series of effects and causes must, I believe, at least theoretically be traceable back to a First Cause. That First Cause is God.
This is, admittedly, a lousy way of expressing my answer to your question, but it is difficult for me to try to express any concept which involves the infinite.
Yes. You have to believe in something, other wise what are we doing all this for? (Life)
Without God, the sacrifice of his son Jesus and the promise that we shall enjoy eternal salvation if we accept God as our Father and follow the teachings of his son, life would be much harder. Many do not admit to it, but if we did not know there was an eternal reward awaiting us, each day we lived on this planet would be much harder than what we have been experiencing.
It is hard for me to explain my belief in GOD as my relationship with him is a very personal one that is beyond words. He means a lot of different names to me: God ,Budhha, allah , krishna ,Tao.etc. I can feel him in my heart and in my being especially when I am in a very quiet place. It's like i am in a trance when I am alone with him intimately with my thoughts.I can feel him when I pray continuusly subconsciously and consciously.
