Why should a believer in God gamble?  See what I did there?

A gambler is a nobody, he is a desperate man taking refuge in frivolities and in the process damaging his ego and his existence. He is unconcerned with the ethics which God teaches. Therefore he does not have to believe in God.

I'm not sure that a gambler can believe in God, because gambling is a game of chance.

However, if one who gambles became a believer in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and grew strong in faith, she/he would no longer be a gambler, because she/he would become a new creation with a renewed spirit and soul.

His divine power would give her/him everything needed for life and godliness through their knowledge of Him who has given of His great and precious promises, so that through these promises she/he can participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

A promise calls things that are not yet, as though they are. By having faith in knowing those promises will manifest themselves, because the Lord God is faithful and true. No longer would there be a need for games of chance, because she/he will always have a sure bet.

I'm a believer and I buy a national lottery or euromillions ticket occasionally when popping down the local Co-op to buy a loaf of bread or pint of milk. smile

Disappearing, I admit that I do the same.  I probably buy 2 or 3 tickets a year.

To believe in God is a gamble but it has psychological advantages. Operating on that premise may unknowingly create positive energy to effect to the outcome of a game. The odds of ones personal desires and those of a collective however, are much different. Several people praying on a one thing is exponentially greater than one person praying on one thing.

    Everyone should believe in God.

    Gamblers are no exception.

If a person is a compulsive gambler, the he needs God in his life to help him control his compulsion and destroy his life and the lives of his family members.

If the person is a recreational gambler--poker game with the guys once a week, the occasional lottery ticket, etc. then he needs God to help him keep his recreational gambling at that level and not let it become an addiction.

I love it Larry.  Christian and gambler are not mutually exclusive.  We also gamble when we don't eat properly or drive too fast.

    Everybody's gonna need God!

From a sin perspective: to win BIG!!
For God's perspective: to stop gambling so that He can fill his life with whatever's missing.
