How shall mankind return to the garden of Eden to render the bible a complete story?
How would you make the bible a finished piece of literature? If you had to rewrite or make the stories contained within the bible more apparently connected how would you do so?
First, there would be a total 'wipe clean' of Earth. Then, me and the other males on Earth would be dressed in Togas, while the females would be adorned with hints of gold while wearing scantily clad gear, all while we live off the land and go forth and multiply ourselves; ta-da!
It is hard to believe anyone would ask this kind of a question at all. The bible is certainly not a piece of literature, and it tells no "story". It is a fictitious conglomeration of many pieces of embellished letters/stories/poems/parables, etc., written by hundreds of authors, that was condensed into a single book by the Roman Government and their creation the Roman Catholic Church to pacify the people and lull them into believing that our 'rewards' will be doled out to us after we die. The ultimate creation of scary fairytale fiction that offers a threat of hell to those who do not believe it, leading to mass hypnotic indoctrination and manipulation with the end results as the ultimate form of control over the masses.
We must get a grip on reality.
There was no garden of eden, nor shall there be one in the future.
Well, can we at least do the Toga thingy, like the Romans..? LOL!
IM: actually i kind of liked your version of how it should be.
@ d. much of what you say is true. European rulers beginning with the Greeks, then the Romans and finally the (the masters of the universe) slave masters have used religion as only evil people could. But, many of these stories have.... continued
The question is based upon the presumption that the bible is based on factual events and people.
First the Bible is more than a "piece of literature". The Bible will never be a "complete story" until Jesus returns. It is "The" never ending story. Even understanding the Garden of Eden metaphorically returning is not an option. In order to understand the Bible you have to believe in God and then you must believe He rewards those who diligently seek Him. The Bible is an historical monograph, a guide to right living through Jesus Christ the Amen, scripture and the Word of God, that spirit that makes it a Living Breathing Entity. As for making "the stories" "more apparently connected. More apparently connected to what? You can't rewrite the Bible. If man should attempt to do that it voids it as it was intended to be; it becomes something other than "Bible". You don't change it in order to understand it. You humble yourself to the Living Spirit of God who gives understanding, then you will begin to experience change within yourself, from the inside out... His In Service
The New Testament speaks of this Jesus thingy, not a complete Bible, as if divisive works in writing makes a damn. Blah! Shall the K-3 students inherently inherit this Earth; LOL!
@insane mundane. Do your thoughts always run together like that? You need that Jesus "thingy" you try to belittle. Can you think mental breakdown? Seek Him...
If things seem to run together, then you obviously can't separate; hence forth your problems...
@d. continued. .. many Bible stories have been proven through Archaeology and many more are being present continually, so, the Bible whether you believe in it or not is an historical document.
...And so are many other myths, legends and folklore albeit they don't often have burning infernos involved and scare tactics to raise money for the corrupt via the gullible...
CH: Odd, there was a 2 hr special on tv 2 days ago about historical facts from the bible. None were verified as fact. Our beliefs are ours alone and cannot be transferred to others unless they have open hearts, open minds and logic.
...More proof that the History Channel isn't always the answer, but the advert revenue is surely great, hence forth the preachers with a mansion and private jets, oh, but ain't we sensing the pattern... Ha!
