The growing trend is people looking for the spiritual answers the Church fails to provide. The answer, 'It's a mystery' no longer cuts it. The real answer to why it's a mystery is that this spiritual knowledge was made occult, a word that simply means hidden. (Consider the symbolism behind the story of Adam and Eve). To find the answer an individual must find their own way through the labyrinth (a common feature in occult symbolism). Shamanism is a path within that labyrinth.
