In short, the answer is "yes - no matter the religion".
But it has seemed to become more complicated than that since certain religions went corporate. Now it seems that the only meaning to some religious holidays is to buy stuff.
If you back track the roots of religion, you will find that every religion on Earth has roots to Earth/Nature based religions where the purpose and meanings of their holidays were based off changes in nature; be they solstice and equinox/season changes or lunar phenomena.
They once told citizens when to plant, when to harvest, when to prepare, etc.

Having a religion instantly puts meaning into your life, while atheism has no real meaning for life. What if god didn't exist? How would you cope? Would life be Way harder on you? But mainly my Main question is how would you cope with life and what would you think about life and death?
