Absolutely. But people try to avoid it because they consider it blasphemy. He did try to awaken people to that truth in several ways, such as "the kingdom of heaven is within you". But people even today refuse to accept that the Spirit in the body is God. Others fear that the secret knowledge will overturn the power structure set up by the government and society. If people awaken to their God power, they cannot control them. The politicians and the wealthy ride on the backs of the powerless people, unless they wake up. So many spiritual teachers advise those who know the truth to not discuss it with people who are not ready for it. They will deny it, because of their lack of information or weakness. They look in the mirror or at their self image and say no way. They don't realize that Jesus is speaking of a higher understanding and a higher state of consciousness that is available to everybody. They have to transcend the false thoughts, negative programming and even the body.

True!  Because if the "Children of God" who "truly believe" and walk in His Ways, they would have nothing but  POWER! Keep them "limited," "unlearned" and we can "control" is the world's thinking & MOST blindly follow!  Amening the preacher on Su

Genesis 1:26 makes it clear that man is made in the image and likeness of God, the Father. But God is not Homo sapiens!

Yet man is created again in Genesis 2:7 from the dust of the ground (chemicals or physical matter).

Thus, man is immortal spirit wrapped in Homo sapiens flesh.

But there is a third component to man -- Ego!

The children of God are not the bodies or the egos -- they are the immortal spirit.

Thus, the baby gods are only those who are living in spirit and in the Love that is God.

It is blasphemy to say that everyone is a god, because most people are living in self-concern (ego) -- and ego is the antithesis of Love.

When we can love another AS ourselves, without any self-concern on our part, then we are truly Following Christ. I suspect that many great religious founders were Following Christ, when we use this definition.

Giving up Ego is hard, but Christ said that the narrow path to salvation is difficult. We have to exercise giving up our attachments to the things of this world, especially our self-concern.

But the best way to do this is to convert Ego to Altruistic Love. Use the power of Ego to drive its conversion. Use the power of God to guide us toward that full conversion. This is the way of Kabbalah -- the ones who wrote the Bible!

Lone77star: ..man is IMMORTAL spirit wrapped up in flesh? Is this what you believe? Have you not read 1 Timothy 6:13-16 where God reveals: “…God, who ONLY has immortality…And 1 Corinthian 15:54 where it is revealed: “So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal (man) shall have put on immortality..."  Man is MORTAL. Jesus came to GIVE us immortality because we do not have it!

The kid ("child") of a goat is goat, the child of a man is a man, and the child of God is a god.  Psalms 82:6 "I said, 'You are "gods"; you are all sons of the Most High"
