Do you think people still believe in God after thousands of years?
Many people believes in God including me and I wonder if a thousand of year pass by. Do you think religion will still exist and people still believes in God? What if technology overcomes religion that makes people forget it what are your doubts about it?
Most people STILL believe in God. However, one does not have to be religious to believe in God. One can believe in God without the benefit of an organized religion. People are evolving from religious to a spiritual consciousness. I would like to add that religious people believe in God while spiritual people KNOW that there is a God.
Religion will eventually disappear as people become more spiritually attuned & aware. As people become more spiritually attuned & aware, they will have no more need for an authoritarian religion which they must follow dogma & religious authorities. They will take spiritually into their own hands. They will come to the realization that they do not need an authority to tell them what & how to believe. They will KNOW how to believe & interact with God. Belief in God will progress to an inner knowing that there is a God.
Even though there will be advanced technology, many people want that spiritual connection. Humankind will evolve from the premise of elementary religious belief to a more mature consciousness of God & the supernatural. They will accept & know that the supernatural as a part of everyday living. The veil is already diminishing between the so-called real & supernatural world. People will furthermore realize that they have supernatural qualities & co-creators with God. They will embrace their divinity instead of being fearful, even disdainful of it.
I think after 1000 years, it is time to replace the Christian god, with new gods or return to the Pegan gods. If I have a time machine, I would love to see, 1000 years later, Christianity become past tense. And people be building temples to worship people like Nelson Medulla, Abraham Lincoln, Benjiment Franklin, Napoleon as gods.
Most, people today, through our own independent thinking demonstrate to be wiser, then the teaching of the bible. And some teaching of the bible is just sick and disturbing, for example check out some of these bible passages
"And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire." (Leviticus 21:9)
"When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets: then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her." (Deuteronomy 25:11-12)
"And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow. So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son...." (II Kings 6:28-29)
"Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids." (Leviticus 25:44 , KJV)
"As for the male and female slaves whom you may have, it is from the nations around you that you may aquire male and female slaves." (Leviticus 25:44, NRSV)
"How blessed will be the one who seizes and dashes your little ones Against the rock." (Psalms 137:9, New American Bible)
"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple." (Luke 14:26)
"Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me." (Exodus 22:29)
"For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters so a whoring after their god

Former Christians: Do you still believe in God?I'm doing research for a book I'm working on. After leaving Christianity, do you believe in God, or have you become an atheist or agnostic?

Christians: If there is no hell, would people still die? There are certain laws in the universe that we must abide by to survive, such as gravity. Yet, if we don't follow this law then the consequences could be death. Why would God allow people to suffer horrendous consequences on this earth but...

I'm not religious but I was brought up in a catholic family. I developed my own thought and points of view and I don't think I fit in religion. I just wanted you to share what your thoughts are on religion.

It is pretty hard to say much on the religious forum that has real meaning. It is the same loaded topics produced by a handful of people who already have a fixed point of view. That closes the possibility of any exchange of information taking place.

why do people find it so hard to believe there is a God? or that there is a supernatural realm? yet we here about demons and supernatural activity and feel a kind of natural drawing towards these things and I guess we dismiss it because we fear the unknown... yet our spirits know its real!!! anyone...
