Having ethical values with compassion and enlightened love at the core of such values. This results in protection of the weak and frail such as children, the infirm and the elderly. It also has to mean respect for other races and their various cultures and their religions. A degree of selflessness has to be present.
To be inhuman is the opposite: the denigration of races, culture and religions; the lack of compassion for the weak; eugenic style philosophies; the love of selfishness etc.

Language with abstract concepts, which lower apes and other animals don't have. So they may have sounds for warning, predators, food, but not "love" or "opinion".

Actually many animals have live and some have basic concepts. To be truly human we need a high form of compassionate love that extends beyond our immediate family and even our immediate culture

When you are kind and considerate - and take care of one another and Mother Nature. That to me is being truly human. We came to this world with nothing but each other and Mother Nature and should something bad happen, we still only have each other and Mother Nature.

The only quality that truly and definitively separates humans from other nonhuman animals, is the capacity for advanced, abstract reason and logic. Even forms of pseudo-language have been identified in dolphins and possibly elephants.

Even inhuman warmongers can do that. There are ethical and spiritual requirements for being truly human.
