Phoenix, maybe you're thinking of medical marijuana, but that's a bus ticket to Colorado. Just sayin'.

What do you specifically do, to meditate? Describe these benevolent spirits, in more detail, if you will.

I've been doing it for so long that it's difficult to describe. A beginner starts out with breath work and, if he or she is lucky to have a teacher like I did, the teacher leads them through guided meditations such as self hypnosis until they are ready to do it on their own. But even after more than 40 years, I still enjoy guided meditations. There are many free ones online. If you are truly interested email me and I will suggest some to you.

I don't know how to answer your "describe these benevolent spirits", but I can tell you that I know that they are there, like guardian angels, for instance. I was in a bus accident 12 years ago and lay paralyzed waiting for an ambulance. The bus lay on its side in a ditch and rain was starting to fall. There was some danger of the ditch filling with water, and I became afraid. I felt soft feather-like touches or fingers on my face and on my arms, although I was wearing a jacket, and a voice said "don't worry, we won't leave you." I felt their touches until the ambulance arrived and took me to the hospital. I will add that the EMTs said that I was not in shock, so it wasn't my imagination. My paralysis went away overnight, but I had broken vertebras in my back, a broken sternum and 4 cracked ribs.

Not all spirits one meets are benevolent. One has to be very careful in meditation to call in protection, and I never tried to contact evil ones. But one night I was awakened by a spirit trying to take me over. Apparently it had to have my permission to do so, because I refused. It still kept trying to convince me to "lie still and let it take over." This happened twice. I immediately stopped kundalini meditation because it was opening a door that I did not want opened.

Reminds me of the movie: Flatliners. What is kundalini?

To explain kundalini to someone really requires their knowledge of the chakras. To be brief, it is an energy force that rises in humans, usually those  who practice advanced meditation, from the area of the tailbone (lower chakra) up to the crown chakra on top of their head. It is a very strong force that can knock a person across the room.

If you have an open mind about our creator, yes it can. If one expects to meet Jehovah or Allah while meditating, then I believe the answer would be "no."

I have met all kinds of benevolent spirits while meditating. We are all creations of the creator, and meditation affords us a wonderful opportunity to connect with our past and future while we live on earth in the present.

If there is one, then maybe. But it can bring you closer to self, your subconscious, and the connectedness of everything.
