I had No intention of writing this. It just came out of the blue to my mind while I was reading a Hub, which I have Not finished reading, because this feels so important to share before I forget my thought.

    Violence.

So many speak of getting even with a rapist, an abusive parent/step parent, whatever.
If you have been thru HELL, which I have, you will want to read on.

So- have you been thru a trauma, like me, and have you not forgiven the person, or have you wished you could kill them, or thought you would, if you ended up in a dark alley?

I appall violence. I have been hurt. I will admit, though I don't want to that I've been provoked to the point I temporarily had a thought I didn't want enter into my mind. that's human. for sure.
How did I handle it? I left the person and situation immediately.
    That is my cure.

I have never attacked anyone violently in my life, although I have been badly treated many times. Maybe I should write a hub on this, as it's getting so LONG.
I could tell you more later on that. Just take my word. I've been badly abused.

I do not intend to ever get even in any violent way.
I never wanted to, never will.

Why? Well you may say because I'm female but it's not a sex identity thing.
    Basically
    I am a believer
Being a believer can soften the heart and enable you to forgive. This is the key to peace and WHY people love examples like Mother Teresa.
We all should aspire to be somewhat like her?
to love deeply, compassionately, and to care for others?
Jesus was killed and beaten yet never uttered a word of anger in return.
Are we not to follow this example? Is there any other better way to become forgiving than to become a follower of Jesus. you may say other leaders teach peace like budda. was he crucified unjustly? I think only Jesus can teach forgiveness. And that, is my secret, my reason why you may just WANT to change to being a believer. It will give you peace, my friend.

I've been through trauma (emotional neglect). I never knew it was considered trauma until about recently. I told my therapist I didn't know my and siblings experiences were "bad." Now I know why I do what I do and where I fell behind in societal standards.

If I had someone to forgive it would probably be my mother... But I don't know what to say/do since trauma you kind of forget the big stuff. I only get reminded when I'm triggered. I think all of us can forgive in one point of our lives "and" our parent apologize since there was no emotional support...I don't think she realized it between all the yelling and so forth.

Anyway, I've never grown up a Christian and had no reason to be one from a deep hearted standpoint. As a teen, I read the Bible and was pretty much pulled away from problems due to religious interest. That and college gave me an excuse not to go home.

Later my catholic friend pulled me back into church after I lost interest after brain surgery. I stayed for four years. No Jesus. If I were Christian I'd 100% be catholic.

It's good you have Jesus as a vehicle of forgiveness. Maybe for you forgiveness means act of sacrifice and not so much just mental. What can you Physical do to forgive? Just my thoughts.
